Socati Corp. has developed two new ingredients high in the minor cannabinoid cannabinol (CBN), which will allow CPG companies to respond to consumer demand for more individualized products while maintaining a commitment to quality, consistency and transparency.
The new products, an oil ingredient and a neutral tasting water-soluble ingredient, are the latest innovations announced by Socati, which already offers customizable ingredients high in the cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG). Powered by Socati’s advanced chromatographic technology that enables the separation of targeted materials from hemp extracts at industrial scale, these new ingredients will enable manufacturers to satisfy growing consumer interest in minor cannabinoids.
“Our customers are telling us that demand for products containing minor cannabinoids such as CBN and CBG is growing rapidly as consumers learn more about these compounds and their properties,” said Socati CEO Josh Epstein. “By delivering ingredients that use the latest technology in the food ingredient industry, Socati is able to equip manufacturers with precision products at scale.”
Both of these new products offer high levels of CBD and CBN. Both have undergone Socati’s advanced process to remove THC below most labs’ ability to detect. In addition to its CBN-rich offerings, the company offers additional ingredient products featuring customizable levels of other minor cannabinoids including cannabigerol (CBG) and cannabichromene (CBC).
More than 100 unique cannabinoids are found in hemp. Though most people are familiar with major cannabinoids like CBD and THC, many of these compounds – including CBN – appear in far lower levels in the plant. As consumers learn more about the properties of specific cannabinoids, demand is growing for products and varieties that address their individual needs.
Backed by extensive internal and third-party analytical testing, Socati’s Montana-based processing facility complies with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)-recognized benchmarking requirements and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards for manufacturing.
