Theory Wellness is opening its first medical dispensary in Northwest Ohio.

The location at 9915 U.S. Highway 127 in Sherwood was built using local contractors and architects, and is employing local staff. It's the company's 10th dispensary, and its second market for medical cannabis.

"We were fortunate to be part of the blossoming medical cannabis movement in Massachusetts and have seen firsthand the tremendous benefits that therapeutic cannabis can play for the 25,000-plus unique patients we have served to date,” said Theory Wellness CEO Brandon Pollock. “We are thrilled to bring our commitment to quality, world-class service and understanding of patient needs to Ohio.”

The company plans to work closely with local cultivators and producers to showcase Ohio's unique network of cannabis products through its retail store. Theory will offer a diverse menu with competitive pricing to help patients achieve a quality level of treatment based on their needs. All patients will have direct access to product recommendations, treatment approaches and a holistic approach to navigating the emerging industry.

"Coming from a medical state, we learned a great deal about how to navigate the beneficial use of cannabis for patients across a range of use cases,” said Theory Wellness CMO Thomas Winstanley. “Every patient is different and requires a thoughtfulness and understanding of the array of products to find the right approach for them. That's where we excel in bridging the gap with our patients.”

Theory Wellness has completed 300,000 transactions with medical patients before this opening. Beyond its commitment to patients, Theory has a track record of investment in its local communities through non-profit support to providing jobs and tax dollars, which is part of its roadmap in Ohio.

Theory will be one of around 70 medical dispensaries in Ohio when it opens its doors May 15.
