Hemp Synergistics has expanded its management team with the appointments of Allison Bentley and Mark Mangieri, two accomplished sales and marketing professionals.
“By announcing the addition of these high performing sales and marketing professionals, we are stepping up our game in a big way,” said Dan Kohler, CEO of Hemp Synergistics. “We have made a commitment to build a team of professionals who understand the operational requirements of large consumer products companies and who can help us develop and market products that meet the requirements of procurement departments of Tier1 brands.”
Bentley, a 15-year veteran of multichannel and online merchandising, has been appointed vice president of sales, marketing and merchandising. She is responsible for growing sales, acquisition of businesses, building sales funnels and merchandising products.
Bentley joins Hemp Synergistics from Zappos.com, where she led merchandising efforts for the e-commerce giant. There, she oversaw four divisions and $400 million in retail sales. While leading merchandising for the online retailer, Bentley achieved year-over-year increase in retail sales and operating profit while reducing inventory costs.
“I am very excited to join Hemp Synergistics,” Bentley said. “Working for a successful, recognized brand like Zappos afforded me a great experience, but I was itching to work for a startup with a great management team and have a more direct impact on improving people’s lives. Hemp Synergistics’ cutting-edge science is appealing to professionals from branded consumer products companies who recognize they can apply their merchandising experience to expand access to health benefits of cannabinoids to millions of people.”
Mangieri, a consumer-packaged goods sales professional who has held front line roles in the snack food and supplements industries, has been appointed director of sales and product development. In his new role, Mangieri will direct the roll out of the company’s new products across industry verticals.
Prior to joining Hemp Synergistics, Mangieri was co-founder and CEO of Fitco Food, a contract manufacturer of functional foods through which he launched a range of new products, achieving shelf-placement in convenience and general grocery spaces. Before that, he was founder and CEO Exclusive Supplements Inc., a supplements company, where he reached over $100 million in total sales through 3,000 brick and mortar retail outlets.
“The future of hemp industry is in the science of extraction,” Mangiere said. “Hemp Synergistics’ laboratory capabilities far exceed industry standards with an extremely talented scientific team using state-of-the-art extraction equipment that is consistently raising industry standards. If you get a chance to join a team like that, you take it.”
