Coda Signature has launched Fruit Notes, the company’s fresh take on the infused gummy, in Colorado.
Fruit Notes are available in three flavors: Strawberry & Rhubarb, Coconut & Lime and Lychee & Cucumber. Two additional flavors, Pineapple & Jalapeno and Pear & Ginger, will be introduced before Halloween. All five flavors will be available in the California market this fall.
“At Coda Signature, our goal is to develop products that are familiar but at the same time unique,” stated Mark Grindeland, Coda Signature co-founder and CEO. “Our Fruit Notes offer the market a new rendition on the very popular, traditional infused gummies.”
Each Fruit Note square is lightly dusted with an infused sugar that is blended with whole spices and aromatics. They are vegan, gluten-free and made with all-natural ingredients including real fruit, spices and pectin. Unlike typical gummies that contain gelatin, which is derived from animal-based proteins, pectin is made entirely from plants.
“The Colorado market knows us for our truffles and chocolate bars but up until now, we have not had a fruit flavored confection to offer,” said Elizabeth Cooke, co-founder, president and chief compliance officer. “We are excited to get these delicious Fruit Notes into retail to see how consumers respond.”
While each variety features a different ratio of THC to CBD, a single serving contains 5 mg of THC, making them an ideal choice for consumers who are newer to cannabis or prefer microdosing. Because Fruit Notes are made with pectin, they are more stable in hot weather than gelatin-based edibles.
“Everything we do at Coda Signature is about creating a total experience,” said Lauren Gockley, director of edibles for Coda Signature. “From the sourcing of the finest ingredients, to the design of our packaging, to the aroma, taste and ratios of THC and CBD in our products. With our Fruit Notes, we imagined an experience for a consumer who wants to simply enjoy the flavors of our confections from a pouch on hike or someone who wants to experiment by mixing them with savory tastes at a dinner party.”
