Design Snapshot: Lagunitas Brewing Co. has launched Hi-Fi Hops, an IPA-inspired sparkling water infused with THC and/or CBD. Lagunitas Brewing partnered with AbsoluteXtracts and its parent company CannaCraft to produce and design the line. Lagunitas avoids potential legal snags by brewing the hop-flavored water at its facility and then trucking it to CannaCraft, where the THC and CBD are added and then canned. The line was made with the hops expertise Lagunitas Brewing has long brought to the beer industry—but without any alcohol. The zero-calorie, zero-carbohydrate beverages are available in brightly decorated cans in two dosages—one with 10 mg of THC and one with 5 mg of THC and 5 mg of CBD, details that are clearly indicated on the can’s packaging. To comply with child-safety laws, CannaCraft worked with its vendor to design an aluminum can that would require two maneuvers to open instead of the traditional pop-top.
